In a day marked by environmental commitment and the active participation of the community, the Universidad Cat\u00f3lica Los \u00c1ngeles de Chimbote carried out a successful campaign to clean up beaches, rivers and wetlands in the Villa Mar\u00eda wetlands, in the district of Nuevo Chimbote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative, which involved the participation of 180 primary and secondary school students from the Villa Mar\u00eda educational institution, collected approximately 200 kilos of garbage, mainly plastic and technopor waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jos\u00e9 Luis Guti\u00e9rrez Aponte, coordinator of ULADECH Catholic’s Environmental Management Office, highlighted the importance of involving students in this type of initiative. “The purpose is that students and the community in general can learn about the natural resources that the locality has and understand the need to protect them,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Edwin Arias Ni\u00f1uvero, director of the Villa Mar\u00eda school, highlighted the importance of the participation of schoolchildren in activities of this type to promote a culture of environmental responsibility. He also called on the community to become aware of the impact of pollution on ecosystems. The successful wetlands cleanup campaign in Villa Mar\u00eda, led by ULADECH Catholic, also had the support of the “Laudato S\u00ed” circle of animators and volunteers from Grupo 4 Ecos. An action that is an inspiring example of how collaboration and commitment can generate a positive impact on the care of the environment. It is a call to action for all of us to take responsibility for protecting our planet and building a more sustainable future
