The Universidad Católica Los Ángeles de Chimbote (ULADECH Católica) continues its journey towards institutional licensing, a crucial process to ensure the quality of education and the future of thousands of students. Under the leadership of the rector, Pbro. Dr. Juan Roger Rodríguez Ruiz, and with the trust placed in all the university’s strata, the institution is prepared to overcome this important challenge.
In this context, the licensing is a crucial step that supports the mission of this university to offer quality higher education, committed to the highest educational and ethical standards.
In September 2023, ULADECH Católica took the step to obtain university licensing under Model 1.5, established by SUNEDU. This model requires the university to comply with the Basic Quality Conditions (CBC) to ensure that students receive a comprehensive and high-level education. To this end, it has implemented various measures, including:
- Improvement of infrastructure: Modernisation of classrooms, laboratories and libraries.
- Strengthening of the teaching staff: Training and recruitment of experienced and highly qualified teachers.
- Updating of curricula: Implementation of modern curricula relevant to the needs of the labour market.
- Increased research: Promotion of scientific and technological research.
- Improvement of institutional management: Implementation of a quality management system and transparency in administrative management.
ULADECH Católica’s commitment to academic excellence has been evident throughout this process, reflected in the implementation of significant improvements in different areas of the institution. From updating curricula to upgrading infrastructure and teaching resources, the university has demonstrated its willingness to adapt and overcome the challenges involved in the licensing process.
It is important to note that ULADECH Católica is not alone in this challenge. As an active member of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC) and the Organization of Catholic Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (ODUCAL), the institution has the support and collaboration of an international network of educational institutions committed to academic excellence and educational quality.
