Los Angeles Catholic University of Chimbote had the honor of participating in the celebrations held on Sunday, April 14, in commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the political and historical creation of the Province of Santa, highlighting its commitment to local development and progress in our region.
The mass for the anniversary of creation was held in the San Carlos Borromeo Church and was in charge of the Grand Chancellor and Bishop of Chimbote, Monsignor Ángel Francisco Zapata Bances and our Rector, Father Dr. Juan Roger Rodríguez Ruíz, and was attended by the main provincial authorities, community leaders and representatives of various institutions of our town.
Likewise, during the solemn session held in the auditorium of the MPS, the Provincial Mayor, Eng. Luis Gamarra Alor, recalled that the province of Santa was created on April 14, 1950 by Law 11326 during the government of Pdte. Manuel Odría. “Since that date, our beloved land, with its capital Chimbote, has grown thanks to the great projects and the demand of its people.”
