As part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the district of Nuevo Chimbote, the Universidad Católica Los Ángeles de Chimbote participated in the II Science, Technology and Innovation Fair, organized by the district municipality. The event was held at the Casuarinas sports center and was attended by hundreds of students from various public and private schools in the district.
ULADECH Catholic had the opportunity to present the scientific projects developed by its students and researchers in the classrooms, with the objective of showing the students and the population in general the methods of scientific, technological and innovation research carried out at the university.
Showcasing cutting-edge projects
Among the projects presented by ULADECH Catholic, the following stood out: “Genetic characterization of high-risk individuals from a low-income city in Peru”.
This research work, awarded the “Hipolito Unanue Prize for the Best Scientific Research Work in Health Sciences – 2023” by the Hipolito Unanue Institute Foundation, seeks to identify genetic factors that increase the risk of chronic diseases in low-income populations.
Scientific Culture
ULADECH Catholic’s participation in the II Science, Technology and Innovation Fair reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of scientific culture in the region. The university seeks to inspire new generations to be interested in science and technology, and to develop critical and scientific thinking skills.
