The Rector of the Universidad Catholic Los Angeles de Chimbote, Pbro. Dr. Juan Roger Rodríguez Ruiz, visited the prestigious Sofia University in Tokyo. In his meeting with the PhD., Takehito Kamata, Coordinator of the University for International Research Collaboration, exchanged ideas about research work and student exchange experiences.
Sofia University is characterized, among other aspects, by the internationalization of its students, who come from different parts of the world, mainly in postgraduate studies.
This educational institution was created by Jesuit priests in 1923 and recognized as a University in 1928, although its history dates back to the arrival of Saint Francis Xavier in Japan in 1549, a missionary who showed interest in founding a university in the Japanese capital.
The host showed our Rector the historical archive of the University, the library, the modern classrooms, the gym and the chapel of the university campus.
