Rector of ULADECH Católica met with Pope Francis in Rome

The Supreme Pontiff received the New Educational Model from the hands of our university authority.

The rector of the Los Angeles Catholic University of Chimbote, Pbro. Dr. Juan Roger Rodríguez Ruíz, participated in a private audience with Pope Francis in Rome. The meeting took place on the occasion of the activities for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC), of which we are a member.

During this personal meeting with the Supreme Pontiff, our university authority placed in the hands of His Holiness a copy of the New Educational Model implemented by the Catholic ULADECH.

Pope Francis thanked the noble gesture and at the same time gave a motivating message by exhorting Catholic universities not to lose the essence, nor the objective of higher education for their students: the common search for truth.

“I would like to thank you for this meeting, for the good that universities, our Catholic universities, do: sowing science, the Word of God and true humanism. I thank you very much. And do not tire of going forward, always forward with the beautiful mission of Catholic universities,” said the Holy Father during his speech on the occasion of the centenary of the International Federation of Catholic Universities.
He also invited the universities that are part of the IFCU to be protagonists in the construction of peace.
