Researchers from ULADECH Catholic obtain the HIPÓLITO UNANUE award for research carried out in Chimbote

Three research professors from the Universidad Católica Los Ángeles de Chimbote obtained the prize in the professional category of the “HIPÓLITO UNANUE AWARD FOR THE BEST SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH IN HEALTH SCIENCES – 2023” contest, for the research work entitled “Genetic Characterization of High Risk Individuals from a Low Resource City in Peru”, awarded by the Hipólito Unanue Institute Foundation.

ULADECH Católica assumed the financing of the research as part of its scientific production, which was executed in the city of Chimbote in 2018 and 2019, having as mentor the researcher Dr. Mev Domínguez Valentín and as co-authors the researchers Maria Palacios Palacios Palacios, Liz Zevallos Escobar and Edisson Vásquez Corales, among others.

The Hipolito Unanue Institute Foundation is an institution created more than 55 years ago that brings together national and foreign laboratories, who reward the talent of the country’s researchers in order to promote research, teaching and scientific dissemination of health sciences.

The XXVIII edition of the Hipolito Unanue Award to the best scientific research work in the country will be held on Wednesday, November 22 in the city of Lima.
