The Office of University Social Responsibility through the Coordination of Environmental Management of the Catholic ULADECH is executing the project called ” Noise impact produced by vehicles and commercial activities in the population of the urban commercial area of the district of Chimbote, province of Santa, Ancash region”, the research is part of the projects carried out with the budget allocated for university social responsibility projects. The research was descriptive, using two sound level meters in order to identify the average daily level of environmental noise in the area and to contrast them with the responses of the residents obtained through a survey.
The research began with the data collection process in June, with the sampling and recording of environmental noise at different monitoring points in the city of Chimbote; participating in the recording of noise levels and the application of perception surveys were Mtro. José Luis Gutierrez Aponte, Coordinator of Environmental Management of the university; Eng. Víctor Armando Rebaza Castillo, specialist of Variability and Environmental Quality of the Instituto del Mar del Perú of the Ministry of Production and Eng. Diana Angulo Milla, Responsible for Environmental Management and the University Volunteers of the ULADECH Catholic University. The second sampling was carried out on August 1 and 2.
The results of this important research will be very useful for government agencies involved in the promotion of public health.
