ULADECH Católica advances in training and academic updating for teachers

Los Angeles Catholic University of Chimbote does not cease in its efforts to consolidate its new institutional educational model. Thus, within the framework of its Teaching Development Policy, it has made great progress in the training and academic updating of its teaching staff.

This work, which seeks to improve teaching quality through continuous training, is reflected in a service with high educational standards.

During the second semester of 2023, a total of 112 teachers have participated in one or more of the 39 trainings that have been developed by specialty according to the professional schools of the Catholic ULADECH such as Administration, Education, Systems Engineering, Law, Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Obstetrics, Nursing and Dentistry.

Dr. Henry Chero Valdivieso, the university’s Coordinator of Teacher Development and Evaluation, mentioned that the training and academic updating plan seeks to train and update the university’s teachers in areas of pedagogy, management, social projection and updating of their specialty in order to strengthen their competencies in the teaching-learning process, with a view to train professionals of integrity in accordance with the institutional mission and educational model of ULADECH Católica.

In addition, in the framework of this work, a total of 9 professors have participated in the Teaching Mobility Program, in recognized higher education institutions such as the Universidad Nacional de Barranca, Universidad Nacional del Santa, and the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.

For ULADECH Católica, university professors should not only teach students, but also create in them the ability to think critically and create knowledge in a rapidly changing society.
